I live in north central Texas near Wichita Falls and need to plant some fast growing hedges in this hot, dry area. Any suggestions?

I have some suggestions. These are not necessarily fast growing, but they are not slow growing either. You may just want to purchase larger plants.
Pomegranate and Spirea are good deciduous choices.
Rhododendron, Nellie R Stevens Holly, and Variegated Ligustrum are good evergreens.
