I resently planted a Leyland Cypress tree approximately 3 foot away from a a Norway Maple that was cut down a couple months before
the planting. I planted the cypress in a hole twice the size of the root ball
and cut all the exposed roots. After planting I gave it a heavy dose of
water and cormeal. After about 2 weeks it has been showing signs of dying. Presently, the Cypress leaf cover is about half brown.

Can this tree be recuperated. Need some suggestion what to do.

Give me a call on the show tomorrow (Sat) 11:00 - 12:00 or Sunday 8:00 - 12:00 and lets talk about this. I have several questions. Even though you are not in DFW, you can listen on www.wbap.com. There's a link on the home page of this site. The phone # for you is 800-288-9227.

I did some research on the internet on this tree and found out this Cypress is vulnerable to a particular Canker disease. Also, I notices abundant (very small) black winged insect just above the root ball.

I have already treated the tree with a liquid seaweed treatment. Will
this be effective against this Canker disease. That is, if this the problem.

(states that this is a good tree…)

(states that it is best in the eastern part of Texas)
