I did respond the other day. It is just above
your last response.
The company is Henry Miller, Inc, livestock
insurance in FW. I found the listing through 411.
This company is all over the US, but I have
found the people in FW to be responsive - but
then we have never had a claim.

Robert,

What does the Stockman Grass Farmer mean when it talks about "plow-down?" Is this plow under? Mow? What? We're trying to schedule a year around forage chain and want to no-till, if possible.

If plow down is what it seems like (I read SGF but
have not seen the term) I would be opposed. Plowing
has destroyed the farm land all over the world
by opening the land up to erosion. You take the
aerobic soil to the bottom and take it anaerobic
and put it on the top to make it become aerobic.
Working the weeds or grass into the serface with
a disc to become an organic mulch makes more
sense.
There was a book by Falkner "Plowmans Folly" that
was written in the 30's (I think I am correct on the
time frame) that discussed this problem. The research
was clearly supported the disc not the plow.

I ran into this term again--in some info in Missouri. Maybe it's a term used in that area.

Thanks for all your wonderful help.
