I'm wondering why many of the buds on my Belinda's Dream rose bush are not opening all the way. They start to open, but the outside petals turn brown on the edges, and then they wilt.

Does anyone know why this is happening to both mine and my mother's bushes?

We decided thrips were doing this to my roses. Was advised to put out beneficial nematodes--like in January.

Encourge lady bugs. I heard that they eat thrips. Every lady bug I find, I carry over to the garden and release her. I have not had any thrips, or aphids, this year.
