Brief update - Last week I went to TOFGA
conference at South Padre. Great experirnce
and food was great. Best orange juice I
have had (We used to live next door to
groves in SW Florida.
Grass fed beef was also very good. At the
conference Walt Davis spoke on grass
fed beef but it was only about 1 hour. His
experience teaching was great but he
couldn't cover a lot in one hour.
THE GOOD NEWS-Walt is doing a two day
seminar in Crockett Tx on Feb 11 and 12th.
This sponsored by HRM - Holistic Resource
Management. The normal fee for this is
$200.00 but do to the sponsorship the fee
will be $100.00 and this includes lunch both
days.
For those that don't know Walt, he is 5th
generation rancher and farmer. He went to
A & M and went home and practiced all
the "New Stuff" that Land Grant Colleges and
chemicals companies (is this an unholy alliance)
tell their graduates and farmers through the
extension agents. He also got advice from OSU.
Walt was successful and produced bumper
crops but when all was said and done they lost
money do to the high cost of chemicals. He
also recognized that the land eas being
destroyed. They almost lost the farm. This is
when Walt decided to change and go back to
had sustained the ranch and farm for the
previous generations - and he did save the
ranch.
Walts program explains the practices that
worked. He goes into the type of cows that
work for grass fed and other regenerative
practices.
This program is a bargin.
