I'm in Denton. When's the last frost usually? I'm ready to start things inside, plant things outside, you know the drill. I'm planning on doing:

tomatoes
basil
garlic (already out of course)
borage
peppers
amaranth
strawberries (maybe)
cantaloupe
radishes
sunflowers
brassica juncea (aka mustard greens)
and maybe lemongrass

Most sites on the web either posts times for their specific locations, where it actually gets cold for months at a time... or talk about time relative to the last frost. So when is it?

I think for Denton the last frost is around March 21st. Someone said to plant when you see the first Sissortail.

tomatoes: plant transplant Mar 21 - Apr 10
peppers: plant transplants Mar 21 - May 1

That works nicely, it's the the day after I get back from SXSW!

I can't wait for Spring either. In fact, I winter-sowed a bunch of seeds yesterday, and worked in the garden getting it ready for planting today. I have onion sets ready to put in the ground, and potatoes waiting for planting. It was nice to get my hands dirty again, lol.

You know spring is coming when the wife is complaing about all the mess I'm making inside and out.

I started my seeds yesterday as well. Well, at least the first shot. I usually get one false start for one reason or another.

I started mine last Sunday. Believe it or not, but about 60% of the seeds are up about 1 inch above the soil. Must be that good homemade potting soil.

No, inside. I start them inside and then after the last frost I put them in the ground.
