It will have to be a pretty tall greenhouse to hold the 35 ft pine trees. Why do you want to build a green house around them?

I think she is saying that she wants to build the greenhouse WITHIN the pine trees not around them.

Paulette, If you want to build the green house amoungst the trees, give us an idea of how big of one you would like and we should be able to find you some plans on the internet.

Be careful not to hurt the tree roots.

Paulette -- sounds to me like you mean a big box out of the windows. Not a foundation, permanent greenhouse. Something you could move (with help). I've seen one in a person's yard and they do look cute sitting under the trees. Anyway, I tried searching around online and couldn't find anything. Maybe you can find someone who does wood-working to help with this. Lucky you having the windows already! :D

Paulette, What kind of green house are you looking for? The kind that attaches the outside of a window or one that you can walk into? We are just guessing on what you want. Let us know and we will look for plans for you.

Won't it be rather shady in amongst the pine trees?

Sounds lovely. It would definitely be decorative more than functional, unless you grow shade loving plants in it.

Something I thought of to make it more "portable" - perhaps use piano hinges to connect the windows -- make a collapsing box of sorts. It would take some planning and figuring, but it might work.

Just a thought...

Hey everyone ! This is Paulette and I want to thank every one of you who responded to my questions about how to build a miniture greenhouse out of old windows. Every response was a HELP! :D I`ve decided that this is something I`m going to have to figure out for myself , although piano hinges sounds like a pretty good idea. I`m pretty handy with tools and trying to figure this out will give me something to do on those dreary days when I can`t be outside. :( Everyone think spring!

THANKS AGAIN
