I was wondering if anyone has had luck striping bermuda. I haven't tried it yet as it looks like if you try to squash it down, the blades all just pop back up again. Is bermuda one of the grasses that can't be striped?

If you're mowing your bermuda at the recommended 1/2 inch height, it's growing horizontally and not popping up at all. Otherwise, I think you're correct that it will not stripe like the flimsier grasses.

I use a Mclane Reel mower, I usually mow at a height of about 1 inch. I have a self propelled Reel that the back wheel almost acts as a roller. I havent perfected the basket weave look yet but I can lay down some stripes. If you havent gotten a reel mower for your bermuda you should look into it.
