Bindweed, or something like it, has started taking over one section of our lot. But it seems to be competing with the poison ivy. Should I get rid of it while I can or should I let it take over and choke out the ivy? Which is worse?
Sorry to post another poison ivy question.

As a wheat farmer, bind weed is the worst of the two. Mainly because i dont have poison ivy growing in my wheat fields. My main reason for replying was to see if you actually had or knew of a way to kill bind weed. Your post made it sound as if you knew how to do it you just didnt know if you wanted to get rid of it or the poison ivy. I you do know how to kill the "devil bindweed" i would appreciate it. dnd

dnd,

I posted my question because the size of the bindweed is small enough right now that I think I could stop it before it takes over. Which probably amounts to digging up the tuber or keeping cut so often that you starve the roots.
