I was going to suggest bermuda but I changed my mind. Bermuda should be kept short. Short bermuda will accentuate the piles of dog poop plus make it harder to mow.
I'm going to suggest St Augustine. The reason is you can keep it pretty long to hide the piles and, assuming it is long enough, you can mow it without interference with the piles.
Keep the organic fertilizer on the lawn and keep it moist and the dog piles should disappear in a few days. In the cool months you will probably have to pick up the piles as the microbes and insects that do the decomposing will not be there. Also in the winter you will probably want to sow winter rye in there to help protect the microbes and the grass from the dogs.
