 A year or so ago, I poured a concrete slab for a storage building and accidently sloshed some wet cement in the san augustine grass. I tried to flush the area with a lot of water but surely changed the soil composition. The grass starts out OK but starts dying as the heat increases in june - july. I have added organic material and also had my soil tested recently. The soil tested acid and I was told to place DOLOMITIC LIMESTONE on the yard. What quanity of limestone do I need and is this a correct fixx ?

I'm sort of at a loss. I don't see why a little watered down concrete would cause a major problem. And certainly adding limestone to an area already doused with limestone shouldn't help anything.

If you apply a light covering of compost to the top of the soil, it should clear up any pH problems. I would just give it normal care.

Could the area be warmer than the surrounding area? Unusual warmth might be caused by a lot of reflective surfaces in the area. Or is the area lower or higher than the surrounding turf? Either one could cause a problem for you.
