I live in Tyler, this is a large Hickory tree in my front yard, side. It was healthy this weekend, now it is turning brown! Nothing has changed in the yard or watering. I don't know what to do to save it? It is a native and has not been disturbe for the 10 years I have lived here, please help?

That is very strange.

Exaining it, do you see any signs of any sort of damage? Insects? Lightning? About the only thing I can think of that could do that that fast that doesn't involve a chemical spill is a lightning strike that grounds through the core of the trunk.

thanks for the message. To my knowledge there has been no "outside" situation. The grass around the tree and scrubs in the bed are all fine. The tree just started going "dry". The trunk looks fine, there is no sign of insects on the tree anywhere. The leaves are drying out rapidly. I first noticed it on Monday when it looked a brownish shade of green. I have put the sick tree treatment on it, along with aerating the soil and began watering. It was extremely dry around the tree. Perhaps with all the rain, it was shocked by the sudden hot, dry weather? thanks
