This is my very first post here. I have been a lurker for a few days now.

We moved into our house 8 months ago.
We have this tree in the corner of the backyard right up against the fence.
I had no idea of what kind it was till last night my father in law said it was a Mulberry tree.

Well I looked up online and found out it was a White Mulberry. I knew it had the raspberry looking things on it but had no idea of what kind it was.

ImageI am VERY new to gardening. I just started this spring.

ANYWAY....The problem that I'm having is just a few days ago I noticed there were major webs in this tree.
Well the more I looked I found fuzzy white caterpillars.
Right under this tree I have planted 5 hostas.
They have been eaten on and now I know what from.
I think these things are falling off into my flower bed and having lunch.

IS there anything that I can do to get rid of these homes for caterpillars?
I dont think they are good for my plants so I want them out.

I don't nessisarly care for the tree but it is the only one in the backyard. It does hang over the fence to the neighbors house.. EEK.
I do wish it was planted in the middle of the yard to give us some shade. What were they thinking when they planted it there?

Anyway about the caterpillars.. can anyon help me?

The smilies are from a program that I use called "get smile" It's really cool. All you do is click the smily you want and it appers in the forums and emails. Image

Anyway I still have tons to read in that book and on here. Image
