I live in the Spring/Conroe, TX area and would like to find a ginkgo tree. Do you know any sources for this tree?

You can find one in Howard's yard, but I doubt he'll part with it.

Believe it or not, I got a nice tree from ebay. Check it out. (When you do a search, be sure to spell it all 3 ways - Ginko (wrong), Ginkgo (right) and Gingko (also wrong)). The only problem is that they are small trees and they grow SLOWLY! I actually saw one at either Lowe's or Home Depot. I can't remember which. It was quite tall, but it was spindly. One of my trees has put up a side shoot which I was going to try to pot up. I don't know where you are, but if it works, you're welcome to it.

Sherman/Denison, Tx nursery. Twin Oaks Landscape & Nursery Inc. 903-463-2205. Wonderful place to visit. Five acres plus. Could stay all day. Good hunting.

Don't know if you've bought or not but I was in Northhaven Gardens in north Dallas today at lunch. They had the nices new shipment of new Ginko's I've seen anywhere. They were tall and slender and I think just $99. Wish I had waited. I paid more than that (at another place) and mine is half as tall.

If you are in Conroe/Spring, drop by the Houston Garden Center on 45 (the big red and yellow tents). Tomball has a lot of nice garden centers, the name that comes to mind is Arbor Gate (FM 2920 west of town), but down that same road are a dozen other garden centers. And if your favorite store doesn't have it, ask and they can get one.
