Hello,

We planted a Burr Oak last year. It has done very well (beautiful green leaves), but I have one concern: What does Oak Wilt look like?

Some of the newer leaves have shriveled or appear to be "pulled toward the center" ... please let me know if there is anything we can do. [/code]

First - if that is your only symptom, you don't have oak wilt. I would say check for bugs.

Second - since it is a bur oak you are not as likely to contract oak wilt. Bur oak is a member of the "white oak" family and not known to be susceptable to the pathogen yet (there have only been a relative few cases). If you have live oaks and red oaks, you should be extra careful.

The major symptom of oak wilt is veinal necrosis (the major veins in the leaves die while the area between the veins is still green.)
