Ok, Ok, I didn't get my tricky wasps (whatever the techicnal name is) out in March to take care of the web worm larve that attack my pecan trees.
So now I've got web worm out the gazoo and not enough paper or yellow jacket wasp nests (8) at the house to take care of that infestation of worms.

A lot of the webs are too high or out of reach to open up from the wasps to gain entry.

I've heard of folks using 'paintball guns' to open the webs but I don't think red looks real good splatted all over. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a $6 slingshot. For shot, I decided to use marble size Lava Rock. The Lava Rock is real ruff and when it hits the web it really pulls it apart. Punching several holes is all that's needed for the wasp to enter. After a few minutes of action, you can see the wasps gathering around the web.

How, please use common sense with the sling shot please. You'd be suprised how far the rock can travel and at what speed. It's best to try and shoot at an angle that will allow the rock to drop back into your own yard.

For me, this turned out to be a lot of fun and brought back memories of just being a kid again.

That's a great idea, Zip.

If someone's a lousy shot or in a place they're nervous about shooting rocks, one can always use the high-pressure setting on a garden hose nozel.
