Anyone know how fast these things grow? I'm wondering how large (in gallons) of a plant I should buy to have something 4'-6' tall in about a year or so.

I like the nice purple blooms and I now need a tall hedge thanks to my neighbor cutting down 95% of the trees on his 1 acre lot. Since I have to stare at all the c*** he piles up next to our property line I thought I'd replace his view of my nicely landscaped yard with some greenery.

My 2 have grown 3-5 feet per year and are very drought resistant. They thrive here in north texas and should do the same down there. These 2 are now about 20 feet tall and the same in diameter. You can keep them down as a hedge or prune into a tree. The bees and butterflies love them as mine are almost in full bloom now and will continue to bloom off and on till the end of summer.. Highly reccomend this plant. Good luck
