After all of the mess with these storms this week and the clean up, I just noticed a white mold/fungus at the base of two trees that are next to one another. One is a 15-20 year old pecan and it has the most of it, right at the dirt line and above. The other is a green ash (also 15+ years old) and the fungus is lesser, but the same and at the dirt line.
Both trees are surrounded by bushes, EXCEPT where the fungus has appeared, and both have their root flairs exposed, as Howard says, not straight into the earth with no flare.
I can send a small digital photo if someone thinks it might help. I would appreciate any help. I'll wait a week, and then call an arborist out if no one can help here, and then I'll post the help I get. Thanks, Rob
