I am using 1oz Orange Oil, 1oz seaweed, 1oz molasses in 1gal of water to fight the fire ants in my lawn.

I have St. Agustin grass and every time I applied that combo the grass has died. It is not just turning brown I can only see the dirt.

What I am doing wrong? Is orange oil not supposed to be used within grass?

Help!!!

By the way the fire ants are gone but I have new mounds after all the rain this week in Houston. :?:

Using only the method of drenching the mounds (that is what I do), IMO you only control the fire ants as opposed to elimination. You may obtain better overall control with a two-step bait/drench approach.

If you have noticed in the vinegar based weed killer solution, orange oil is a component. If you are repeatedly treating the same mound, I don't guess I am surprised that you are seeing some browning out.

Your recipe is interesting in that there is no manure compost component. I have put seaweed in my soil drench solution before, to what end I'm not sure, I just like to feel like a mad scientist sometimes.
