My brother changed the oil in his truck and accidently spilled several quarts worth in my fathers yard. This was several years ago - maybe five. Well, since then nothing has grown in this area. Can I use zeolite or something here to fix the soil so he can have grass again?

Hi Christina,
I would try digging up the area. Then adding new soil and seed or sod. I can't imagine anything that will " cure" the soil.

Good luck,
Plantman

Nina;

I am reclaiming a small area in our turf that had suffered small oil spills over the years. Nothing was growing in that area. Last Fall I started applying Medina Soil Activator and molasses. This Spring I changed over to EW Pro and molasses. Weeds are now growing in the area and grass is starting to move in. Granted, several quarts of oil were not spilled all at once in the area, but I am seeing results. As Plantman stated, the best results would be to dig out the dirt and replace it.
