I heard that a baking soda and water solution is helpful for blackspot on roses. Can anyone tell me the ratio? Also, what about, I think, almond oil or extract and water for misquito repellent? Misquitos and fire ants seek me out. I can be sitting with family and friends and I'm the one that gets chewed up. I would really like to begin enjoying the evening outside to watch our hummingbirds.

Thanks,
SB

If you'll click on "back to dirtdoctor.com" on the upper left of this page, then click on 'Information Center" on the left hand side you can find lots of organci information on treating blackspot. I think the potassium bicarbonate is recommended more than regular baking soda. You can find P.B. at Redentas or other organic garden centers. The "information center" also has a lot of information about mosquitoes.
