I wonder if I can use my maseca instant corn masa mix to dust my euonymus that have powdery mildew or does only the horticultural stuff do? It would be nice if the Maseca is effective because it is very finely ground corn and easy to apply as a dusting agent.

epi,

50 pounds of 'whole ground corn meal' from a farm and ranch feed store will set you back about $6.

Use it on everything from grass to feet to control fungus growth.

Thanks for the advice. I already have a 50 pound bag of horticultural corn meal but I thought that the maseca would work if I wanted to get a very fine coat of cornmeal dust to coat the leaves of the plant. The horticultural corn meal seems to course a grain for that.

epi,

Sorry, I miss understood your needs.
What I do is sift the grain to the size that works best for me.
Try panty hose for a real fine dust.

Using a blender, food processor or a grinding mill should get you all the dust you need. Personally, I'd make corn meal juice & spray it where I needed it.
