I read something somewhere about using orange flesh in the garden soil. Can't remember the purpose, but think it probably was used as a pesticide. Does anyone have any info or experience with this? Thanks!

Maybe what you are thinking of is grated orange peel. If I remember correctly, it can be used in the soil for root knot nematode control.

 Thanks for the replies. I was in Plano last month visiting my daughter and read some of her Dirt Doctor's Dirt magazines. Could very well have been a sentence in one of those, and it seems to me it might have been a brief item about ongoing research. I know that sounds awfully "iffy!" But the term "orange flesh" caught my attention enough to remember that part

Just happened to have 3 oranges that had gone bad and before putting them in the compost bin, wondered if I should grind them up and work them into the soil before planting some seeds.
