I have a 9'x18' veggie garden, three railroad ties tall. My concern is about the creosote leaching into the soil and my plants taking it in. Does Zeolite bind up the hydrocarbons? Where can I get my soil tested for toxicity? What materials can I use to replace the RR ties, and how can I get rid of 'em, or use them without concern?

It would be alot of work, but if I were taking on this task, I would line the entire bed sides with sheet metal or a thick plastic. The leaching into the soil will be primarily directly under the RR ties, and not much will take place out to the sides.
