Our carpenter bees are back again this year and looks like they brought friends. They like our shed and have many holes. Is there a way to get rid of these?

My impression of carpenter bees is that they are pretty harmless to people, and they prefer dead wood lying on the ground, such as fallen rotting trees. Are they nesting in your building, or are they just near a building and showing defensive behavior?

We have an open shed and they are boring the underneath of the 2x4 rafters. They guard the shed and run off any other flying insects. They look pretty aggressive but don't bother people as of yet. My wife is allergic to bee stings and we would like to have them move away. I don't necessaraly want to kill them but keep them from coming back.

If you will treat the wood with Timbor at a 15 percent solution, this will inhibit the bees from infesting the lumber.
