I have a live trap and have caught coons and cats, but don't think I want to pick up a trap with a skunk in it, but if you do I would have a lot H2O2 and tomatoe juice around or you will loose a lot of friends and neighbors.
The biggest fear is of rabbies and having them bite you, or you cats and dogs.
Good luck!

Here's what I've learned on the Internet about trapping skunks. You can use a Havahart type ONLY IF it is wrapped in black plastic. If the skunk cannot see the target, it apparently will not spray. You might want to relocate it in the back of a pickup rather than in the back seat of the car.

I have had a problem with skunks too. The best solution I have found is a 12 gauge shotgun. You can get one for about $200.00.

Yeah, live and let live only extends so far. Robertson County where I live has had several rabid skunks killed this season already so I'd be wary of catching one live.
