What varieties of clematis will work in the heat and mild winters we have in Central Texas? The same for hostas? Thanks for the help. Jim

I've never had success with either, but have read that hostas can be grown in moist shaded areas with great soil. That doesn't fit the description of my gardens, so I guess that's why. Don't quote me on this, but I think I remember reading that the clematis variety Jackmati will survive here. I may have the spelling wrong, and I don't know much about clematis in general, but that may give you a subject to do a search on.
