Scotts Lawn Service erronously treated my property with Poly-S, product code 33, and "Control Products" 243 and 24. The street NUMBER was correct, but the street NAME was wrong. Immediately upon discovering the invoice in my front door I called the service provider. I was told that no products harmful to people or pets were involved. I tried to express my displeasure that after a two-year struggle to go organic this error negated my efforts and I asked for restitution.

Can anyone of you tell me what these product codes signify and their possible impact on my efforts?

As requested by Scotts manager, on 26 June I sent email to document my experience and my proposed remedy. I have yet to receive a reply.

Suggestions?

I think you should ask for MSDS (material safety data sheets) on the products applied. They have to keep them on hand, it's a law. They may even have them on their web site. The MSDS will tell you everything you want to know about the toxicity of the materials applied. Once you have this info you can respond with whatever you think is appropriate.
This is the second post on this forum about a mistake from a lawn fertilization company. You may want to search and see what others think. If you can't find the post, let me know.

unless your just a homeowner in a quest for free money,,,,,i would just completely forget about the whole deal!

what they used was minimal and as a one time application you probably get contaminated more by the soap, cosmetics, hair spray/gel and formalidhyde in your carpet than by what they sprayed on your lawn!

poly S is their fertilizer, im sure they used talstar/bifenthrin and possibly a simple copper fungicide! there isnt much else the spray companys can use anymore!

Poly-S is a mutch better fertalizer than anything they sell a lowes or home depote. It is made of one of the best polymer sulfur coated urea and and has a release rate of about 6 months. It releases its nutrients very slowly and has a very low potetlial for poluting the enviroment even when there is heavy rain. Basicaly it is a synthetic fertalizer that tries to mimic the properties of an organic fertalizer. As for the control products I have no idea what they are.
