I have aphids on my peas so I released lady bugs 2 weeks ago. The lady bugs are not controlling them. If I spray orange oil on the peas to kill the aphids, will it kill the lady bugs? Or what would be the best thing to spray on them?

You need to give the lady bugs a chance to get going. Yes, the orange oil will kill lady bugs & aphids if you spray it on them. If ladies are not on the plants & you spray orange oil, there should not be a problem. The orange oil might repel the lady bugs. Keep in mind that some plants don't like orange oil especially since it doesn't mix too well with water (some oils do & some don't). You might use the garlic/pepper spray in the meantime. If nothing controls the bugs, use one of the plant oil sprays before your peas die.

Do I understand you correctly that the garlic/pepper spray will not harm the ladybugs? If so, I need to spray the peas today. My peas are already dying since they are covered in aphids. Thanks for your help.

The garlic/pepper spray is a repellent. As far as I know, it will not kill bugs of any kind. The addition of orange oil does the killing. If your peas are dying, you may want to spray with orange oil, Neem or some other plant oil right away. You could go ahead & try the garlic/pepper. I think that someone in another post said that it seemed to attract the ladybugs.
