I am new to Texas and have just purchased a home. I have built 3 raised garden beds that are 3 feet wide, 12 feet long and 8 inches high. I had a compost, mulch, sand mix hauled in to fill the beds. Should I add nitrogen to the soil, and if so how much per bed? Any help would be appreciated greatly.

You absolutely need to feed the soil microbes. The compost provides the microbes. Now you need to feed them.

My favorite all-round fertilizer is corn meal. It not only provides the nitrogen you need but it also guards against fungus disease. The application rate is 10-20 pounds of corn meal per 1,000 square feet. You can get it at a feed store in 50-pound bags for about $5. I would apply 4 times per year.
