Newly planted several months ago. I may have over amended the soil. Thought about lime. Red clay here in Whitesboro/Callisburg area. Tell me what my problem may be. Thanks.

Did you put amendment in the soil you filled the hole with? If so, especially if it is compost or fertilizer, that could hurt the tree.

See if anything was amiss in your planting. Might also be planted too deeply- check that the root flare is visible above ground.

What kind of tree did you plant?
