Hi folks, I switched from synthetic lawn care products to organics a little over 2 years ago, and am very pleased with the results. However, I want to make sure I am using the best products I can get for the lowest price. The city I live in offers free compost to residents, which I used this spring on my lawn. This compost is made using the recycled materials of city residents and public areas. Since these materials most likely are not organic, is the compost made from them OK to use on my yard? When I applied it, there didn't seem to be much life in it - it was more like ground up mulch. If you have any recommendations of where to purchase quality, organic compost in the Mesquite area, please let me know. Thanks for your help.
