Forgive the newbie question:
I shop Gardenville a lot, and I see all these thick, viscous ammendments: Sea Weed, Sea Tea, Molasses, Anti Fuego, Compost Tea. All very good.

BUT ! Last time I tried to deliver Sea Tea through a Dial-A-Sprayer, it clogged the works in about 2 minutes ! Yeah, I can use a watering can or a pump-up sprayer. Those are quite laborious and time consuming.

Only thing I can figure, with the Dial-A-Sprayer, is to break out the little screen and ream out the nozzle with something, to make it bigger ! Is this what's going on out there ? I don't see how else you deliver this stuff over large square footage. I'd love to spread molasses or compost tea over my 4000 foot lawn-- I just haven't figured out how yet ! Thanks in advance.

Some people remove the screen but do not ream out any sprayer holes. You could mess up the mix ratio. The best way to spray this kind of material is to dilute it. If you dilute 1/2 water, 1/2 material & spray at twice the ratio you have accomplished the same thing. Keep in mind that without the screen, material could clog the sprayer innards.

CK out the lively discussion on this link:

On a dare I tried spraying full strength molasses and it went through like a dream - MUCH to my surprise

Then this week I sprayed a bacterial product that had apparently went bad on me. I ended up straining it through my wife's collander and managed to spray it out. Whatever I sprayed my dog sure liked rolling in it.
