I moved to my new home a year ago and I have hundreds of trees. Mostly oaks. I had many dead ones and sick ones, too. I called an arborist and he said 16 needed to come down. I hired another company to take them down. I was very sad. There are two now in in my front yard which are ill. The bark is sluffing off. On one of them, a couple of arms are not growing leaves, but the rest is. I do not water them directly, but they get indirect water from my landscaping (My house is on a slight incline from these trees.). The root flare is visible and looks good. We do have wild animals, including deer, but this problem is way to high for deer. A friend of mine suggested diatomateous earth. It is raining today, or I would have put it on. The rain actually shows the problem very well. Help save my trees, please![img][img][img][img][/img][/img][/img][/img]

Please tell us more about the property. How was it used before you moved in, how large is the lot, and what is going on around it? Is it urban or rural? Is there agriculture? Gas drilling? Road building, livestock raising, etc.? If there was any agriculture on the property itself, what did they grow? Anything that offers clues will help. Before you moved there was the property left alone, and did people drive around on it (while building the house, etc.) I'm trying to get an idea of the impact on the land around and under the trees.
