My grapevines were being attacked & destroyed by army worms. Apparently moths lay there eggs on the leaves and thousands of lil creepy worms are born and eat the leaves until they look like an 80 year old doily.
My strawberries grow beneath my grapevine, and my tortoise eats those & the grape leaves, so I had to find something that was natural.
Here is the remedy - 2 Jalapenos (from my vegee garden); half a clump of garlic (cut off that strong top thing that holds the individual cloves together); half an onion.
I put them all into the magic bullet and made a thick creamy paste. Put that into a container and poured 4 cups of boiling water over it. Let it steep 12 hours. Strained off the pulp and put the "tea" into my hose attachment sprayer thingy, and sprayed my grapevine every 3 days - for a total of 3 times over 9 days. No more Army worms.
