I'm sorry to say this (especially about a Mod...don't hurt me please).

But come on Nadine. What kind of crackerjack junk science box did you pull this out of. Blind calves born without knee-caps and a hoof up their... well, you get the point. Gees :!:

:x The guy (getipm.org) has a link that shows "Chief Seattle's" (herein refered to as CS) speach. First off, who is CS. I have never seen his garden. Would he be a chief that ran bison off a cliff just for the heck of it. Native American's are NOT sweet and innocent sources of organic soultions that we should follow. ESPECIALLY when the speach that is supposed to guide our inner core and beliefs is a FAKE. That speach was never given by CS.

I haven't checked out the gene.ch site yet, but give me time.

As far as my comittment to organic solutions:
I love my blowtorch, mulch, a shovel and gloves to solve my weed problems. Hand weeding is the fasted most gratifying method I can think of. I have to admit, I haven't tried vinigar and probably won't as long as my knees and back hold out.

The only thing I like less than the "Chemical Nazi's" would be those spewing doom and gloom and using junk science to try and further "MY" causes. It gives me and my friends a bad name and sets our cause back a few hundred years.

Respectfully,
The Lumberjack '99

OK.
I tried to get to the following link.
http://www.gene.ch/gentech/1997/8.96-5.97/msg00627.html
It doesn't exist anymore (or at least not at 2:30 today). Just going to www.gene.ch didn't reveal anything.

Believe it or not I would like to read what this site has to, or did say.

Was the sun out and shining or was the day cloudy? It works on a sunny day. I always use 20% vunager with orange oil and a bit of herbal soap.

I wonder if he was using the right kind of vinegar. I used regular vinegar the first time and it didn't work at all.

The only place I have ever had any luck with the vinegar (20%) is in the weeds growing in the cracks on the sidewalk. I probably won't buy anymore unless I am doing pickling of some type. That being said, I am also not planning on using roundup or other types of herbicide. I have found that the CGM application plus pulling seems to do a decent job. I won't ever have a completely "weed free" lawn, but I also don't have to worry when my two boys (2 & 4) are out playing in the yard. I will take a few weeds for peace of mind.
