Hi,
I've had 18 dead pine trees removed. After they ground the stumps, there's mounds of fresh pine mulch all over, and it's been ground fine. My soil tested alkaline 7.5, and I need to get it down to around 6 for my roses (around 200) to be happy. I'm using the lasagna method for the beds with compost, native soil, newspaper and/or plain cardboard, then mulch. I've never applied lime, so I'm not sure why the alkaline reading.
I'm wondering how long to wait before I can use all this mulch, if it's out in the sun and being watered. Anything I can do to help it along? I don't have any equipment to move it, other than shovels and a wheelbarrow.
Thanks,
Angela
