I have just recently found this discussion board and am very thankful. I need to find out some of the basics. My first challenge is lawn care. We have a St Augustine lawn that developed brown spots last fall. Im not sure of the cause, but from reading many of the posts Corn Meal Gluten seems to be the answer. Is this a dry powdered product spread with a spreader? Just trying to get started here. With two Basset Hounds and a neighborhood full of kids...the chemicals are now out! Also how often should this be applied? Will I need to resod the brown spot areas??

Thanks to all of you in advance.

Corn Gluten Meal is for fertilizing & as a pre-emergent. Horticultural Cornmeal is what you are probably referring to. It helps with fungus issues. Both products can be applied with a whirly spreader. The corn gluten meal is pretty messy since it is a fine powder. See the links below for additional info.

Keep searching this site & discussion board since something is causing your problem. Maybe others can also pitch in and provide help.
