You may be able to get some help from a pest control company - but be sure that you tell them what area you need to protect from the bees and their return. They have ways of moving a hive (if it is honeybees) and they have the equipment to deal with bees in case any of them are Africanized.
Mr. Garrett's home-made insect repellent (made with garlic and hot chili peppers) has convinced the yellow jackets and other stingers to move somewhere other than the area around my faucets. You can find the recipe athttp://www.dirtdoctor.com/view_question.php?id=204
With a toddler, you need to watch out for the ground living, solitary bees, as well! Good luck!
