I've noticed many random brown spots in my neighbor's Bermuda yard (and others in the area). I thought it was grubs, but the turf is still firmly rooted. I thought grubs ate the roots, killing the grass and making it easy to pull off the blades from the surface. Is it grubs, or something else? Whatever it is, what can/should I do to prevent it from getting to my yard? So far, my lawn looks fine, but I want to be proactive and not wait for the brown spots to hit my lawn.

What are you fertilizing with and how often?

How much are you watering and how often?

How high are you mowing the bermuda and how often?

Thanks for the reply.

It's my neighbor's lawn.

I've since talked to him, and it turns out he spot treated crabgrass with MSMA. My guess is he didn't use the proper strength, so it killed the Bermuda as well as the crabgrass.
