 Post subject: bats,birds,bees

is there anyone out there that could tell me if martins or bats will eat or in anyway hurt my honey bees? thanks plumber

THey won't appreciably hurt your bee numbers, or at least I've never seen that or read it anywhere. Remember, bees have a fairly short life span, and there are thousands and thousands of bees in a hive. I've never seen the local martins using my bees for food. In fact, orb spiders probably kill more of my bees than other predators.

I would think that bees are not on the menu of either bats or martins. Most of their diet seems to come from high-flying insects such as moths. Bees tend to fly close to the ground looking for pollen.
