Please Help! Can't remember which end of an avocado seed goes into water when doing window sill gardening. Thanks!

I've always done the 'pointy bit' upward and that's worked fine for me.

I have always had good luck soaking a paper towel or two with water just to point of not dripping, rolling the avocado seed in the towel and then putting that into a ziploc bag. After a few weeks, it has a good root and you can put it into a pot or the ground if you wish.

If you do want to put it into the ground, the earlier the better as avocadoes do have quite a transplant shock, even with the greatest care. The best thing is to just plant them directly into the ground and keep the soil wet for a few weeks to a month and they will grow surprisingly well.
