1. One of our redbuds had a limb broken in the wind a couple of weeks ago. I cut it off and the center is brown. I cut a couple of other small branches and they too have brown in the center. In some it looks like a hole. The branches are droopy in general, and the leaves are curling. It isn't planted too deep and doesn't get too much water. Is it a hopless case? Will it migrate to other trees?

2. The weeping willow has been losing branches (more like twigs). The large limbs look good and there is plenty of green foliage. Is it normal for them to shed small branches?

3. A lace bark elm seems to be declining. The leaves are very sparse. There are many small dead, crumbly branches that should have leaves on them. About 3 years ago we dug up some Irises that were planted near the drip line all around the tree. We removed soil from the root flare there wasn't much of problem there, however we put some of the irises back a little further out than before. There is a small amount of mulch on the ground. Any ideas?

All these trees are over 10 years old. The willow is at least 20 years old. They are all in the same part of the property, the front yard. It is a large area and in addition to those trees there is a pecan tree, 5 pine trees, 3 oaks, 3 ash, 6 crepe myrtles, 1 mimosa, 3 jujubes, 1 apple, 1 crab apple, 3 photinias and numerous shrubs, roses, perennials and bulbs. The point is none of the others are stressed.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
